Add a domain using the dashboard or POST /domains. Publish the returned DNS records with your DNS provider, then request verification using POST /domains/{id}/verify. Adding a domain through the API does not change DNS automatically. Use the exact records returned for your domain. Keep verification and mail-related records DNS-only if your provider offers a web proxy. Do not replace existing human-mailbox MX records. The domain’s receiving capability remains disabled: platform inboxes are created separately through POST /inboxes.

Domain health

GET /domains/{id}/health returns sending status and bounce/complaint samples. Rates are fractions: 0.01 means 1%.
  • below_threshold: the latest fresh sample is below the review threshold.
  • review: the latest fresh sample reaches the review threshold.
  • stale: the latest sample is more than 24 hours old.
  • no_data or unavailable: there is no usable current measurement.
Missing data is not a zero rate. These are lagging signals, not predictions of deliverability. Health display does not automatically suspend sending. Check sending_enabled and sending_suspended separately.

Starting a new sender

Begin with small volumes of expected transactional messages to engaged recipients. Avoid sudden spikes, purchased lists and sending again to bounced or complaining addresses. Domain verification alone does not establish a sending reputation.
